Giron

This is Orbin or «Orphan» in English. His name tells a little of his story. Orbin was one of the first reindeer at Skakkerud. This strong guy actually decided himself that he wanted to stay with us. In the winter of 2018 his mother died. Orbin was still a small calf and had to survive on his own. Orbin noticed the reindeer at Skakkerud, and started coming to our fence more and more. Sometimes he went away for some days or so, but he always came back. One day we just opened the fence and he came inside. He was happy to be with other reindeer again. We took care of him, and as you can see he grew big and strong. He is now a strong male with strong opinions. Stubborn and grumpy at times, 

but also calm and kind.

Orbin is a dark colored reindeer, which in Sami is called «muzet».
